Create a spreadsheet

Define the table first, then create and review a spreadsheet from source files.

Create a spreadsheet when information from one or more files needs to become rows and columns you can check. Define the table before asking Kuse to extract data.

Define rows, columns, and rules

Describe what one row represents, list the required columns, and say how missing or conflicting values should appear. Include a source column when the table needs to be audited later.

Select the files and generate

Choose Excel in New Task when it is visible, select the relevant files, and submit the table specification. Clean .xlsx and .csv files are easier to process than heavily formatted or very large spreadsheets.

Define the columns and missing-value rule, generate the spreadsheet, then open the result for review.

Review exceptions before totals

Open the result and check several rows against their sources. Review missing values, duplicates, and normalization decisions before using totals or charts.
